A Tribute to My grandmother: An important woman in my life.

Today is international women’s day, and I would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to my grandmother. She was an important woman in my life, and she contributed significantly to society. My grandmother was born in the rural country of Manchester in Jamaica, and she faced many challenges throughout her life. Despite these difficulties, she achieved great things. She was a strong and determined woman, and she let no one stand in her way.

My grandmother was always very supportive of me, and she encouraged me to pursue my dreams. She taught me the importance of hard work and perseverance, and she showed me that anything is possible if you set your mind to it. I will never forget the sacrifices she made for me. The Lord sees it fit to bless my grandmother to be the nanny of a wealthy family in Jamaica. When they migrated to America, she came with them and worked as a nanny, putting in extra hours to save to bring her children up from Jamaica to live with her in the country of great opportunity. She continued to work as a nanny, making sure we had food on the table until her sons could get son jobs.

When I lost my mom during my senior year in college, I was ready to quit; I was so depressed, but she helped me through that grieving and pain and reminded me of the struggle I went through at the college just to quit in my last year. She was there with me when I got my first degree, and just having to see the look on her face was enough for me that day. She was hilarious. There is no way you could hang around her without bursting into laughter. She was my best friend, my parent, my cheerleader, my heart, and I miss her dearly, so I continue to live the life she inspired me to have.

My grandmother was a truly remarkable person, and I am very grateful that I knew her. She was a religious woman, and she always taught me to be kind to others. She believed in giving back to the community, and she spent much of her time helping those who were less fortunate than herself. If it weren’t for her, I don’t know where I would be today. She will always be remembered and loved. Thank you, Grandma, for everything. You are indeed an inspiration to me. I hope that my grandmother’s story will inspire other women to pursue their dreams and achieve great things. Thank you.

Happy international women’s day! Let us all celebrate the accomplishments of women around the world!
